Definitely more upscale than my usual outings, Jardiniere exudes
quality. This two-level, funky, spacious restaurant doesn't
have a bad table in the house.
The Ambience:
Live jazz on some nights peppers the air unobtrusively. Architecturally
interesting. Dim lights. Airy.
The Menu:
Nightly specials, a small, unique set menu and a chef's
tasting five-course meal. The wine list is enormous with a full
range of regions and prices. Entrees from $20-$30.
The Food:
Creative, tasty mini-delights. The entrees are small and expensive,
but they're also exquisite.
The Service:
Professional, friendly, knowledgeable and, well, perfect. In
fact, it was almost as if we'd entered the Stepford Wives
sequel: Stepford Service.
Reservations: Yes.
Overall: A-
No wonder it's that bastard Mayor Brown's favorite place to
eat. Worth the money if you can swing it.
